Structured Light Scanning is a methodology where a known pattern, usually stripes, are projected onto an object and then captured with a digital camera. The software then converts this image into pixels in three dimensional space. Because digital cameras can yield several million pixels, the output is refered to as a point cloud. Point clouds are then converted using splines and nurbs to produce full color images. For more information contact Dr. Sibylle Scholz at sscholz@4dImaging.com |
